Clint L. Sanchez shares with BlakSheep Creative his experience on how small business owners can use local SEO to improve the visibility of their website.

We give a lot of advice to small businesses, but I see certain things repeated over and over, like adding keywords in the description. It’s not rocket science.”

Denham Springs, Los Angeles, US Jan 12, 2022 / EINPresswire.com/ — Local digital marketing agency BlakSheep Creative has been helping businesses increase their visibility on the web since 2001. Company owner Clint L Sanchez said small business owners can take several steps to improve their search engine rankings.

“We’ve put in a lot of advice for small businesses,” Sanchez said, “but I see certain things repeated over and over, like adding keywords in the description. It’s not rocket science.”

Sanchez said customers should make sure they target the right keywords by putting themselves in the shoes of a potential customer.

“Think about the words you would type into a search engine if you were looking for your services,” Sanchez said.

BlakSheep Creative suggests that business owners set up and improve their business profile on Google (formerly GMB). The company also advises that companies claim their local listings, respond to reviews and keep their name, address, and phone number consistent across the web.

Sanchez said business owners must ensure their digital footprint is consistent to build credibility.

“Google is the #1 search engine, so they will definitely look at your GMB page and other quotes on the Internet,” Sanchez said. “If you have multiple listings with different phone numbers and addresses, this won’t help.”

Sanchez also said that companies should engage with customers on social networks to improve search engine rankings, but urged business owners not to rely on

BlakSheep Creative suggests that small business owners monitor their Google Analytics, which can be set up for free. This can help them monitor who visits their page and how.

“It will help you understand what your customers are doing,” Sanchez said. “You can see how often they visited your website, from where and on what device.”

Sanchez suggests using Google Search Console (webmaster tools) to help fine-tune the way searches are conducted on Google.

“You can see how people are searching, whether it’s via mobile device or desktop,” Sanchez said. “This will tell you which keywords are attracting people to your site.”

BlakSheep Creative also suggests creating content that potential clients and customers find useful, whether it’s through blogs, videos, or other content.

“When you provide value up front, people are more likely to know who you are,” Sanchez said. “They read your blogs and interact with you on social media.”

While many benefits come from digital marketing, the biggest is how easy it is to collect data and generate reports.

Small business owners should ask themselves: What kinds of things do I want to know about my website? What steps is my company taking to improve online visibility? How can we use this information to help grow our business?

Sanchez also suggests that website owners use Schema Markup, which helps search engines understand what information they should display.

It’s not too difficult, and it makes a big difference,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez added, “If you’re building a house, you’re not going to build the roof first, right? Same goes for your website—make sure you lay the foundation before you worry about decorating or customizing anything.”
